I know it's been a little late coming and I apologise for that. If you've been wondering why no one has gotten promoted recently, the reason is we're changing the rank system and all old ranks are now invalid. To qualifiy for each rank you need to for fill the requirements for 2 consecutive weeks. These rank requirements can be achieved across all your characters aslong as they are all marked up as belonging to you. This will come in the form of your guild note, if your alt's aren't marked with your mains name please contact an officer to get it changed. The new rank system is as follows:
- General (Guild master)
- Lieutenant General (2nd in Command, same rights as the Guild master)
- Colonel (Guild Officer)
- Major (100k honour kills, 6 premades a week and an arena team of rating 1.5k)
- Captain (100k honour kills and 5 premades a week or 10k honour kills, 6 Premades a week and an arena team of rating 1.5k)
- Lieutenant (10k honour kills, 5 premades a week and an arena team at rating 500)
- Sergeant (10k honour kills, 4 Premades a week and an arena team at rating 500)
- Corporal (10k honour kills and 4 premades a week)
- Private (4 Premades a week)
- Recruit (Basic entry level, 3 premades a week)
To achieve each rank you must for fill all the requirements. if there is an "or" in between the requirements, this means u can either complete the 1st or the 2nd set of options to achieve the rank.
(for example: if you have 10k honour kills, complete 5 premades a week and have an arena team of rating 1.5k you do not qualify for captain rank because you would need to have completed 6 premades a week to for fill the 2nd set of requirements)
How will we know if you've for filled the requirements for a rank advancement?
Well this is where the guild officers come in; they will be arranging premades whenever they are able, if you turn up to one of their premades they will mark you down as having done a premade. If you created your own premade and an officer wasn't present, just send them a mail telling them what BG you did and name 2 other guild members you played with who can confirm you were there and they'll mark you down as having done the event. As for honour kills and arena rating, we can check those on armoury so don't worry about mailing us every time your rank increases because we'll check it automatically. However it would be nice if you could inform us if you have an arena team so we know who to check, and this would also help make us aware of players who don't have a team so we can suggest them to members looking to start an arena team.
Please remember the premade event needs to last at least 1 hour or 2 matches (which ever comes first) and you can't be counted for doing a premade until 2 hours after the last event you attended, this is to help spread the events equally across the week so everyone has a chance to join them regardless of what days they are online.
So if you look at this from my perspective, during the week I'm only able to premade from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. If I play a premade each day for 4 of the 5 week days and play 10 matches of arena on the last day, I can achieve "Sergeant", but then say I play 1 premade on the weekend; I can then achieve "Lieutenant" rank. And to achieve those ranks I only need to play 5-6 hours a week to achieve "Sergeant" and 6-7 hours to achieve "Lieutenant". So that's not really a big ask for most of you considering there are 168hours in a 7 day week.
For any of you that think that's unfair keep reading, if you're happy with that then don't worry about what's written below, and I hope you enjoy our new rank system.
Now if you calculate that humans require about 8 hours a day to sleep which is 56 hours a week, then say you work 8 hours a day 6 days a week, that's 48hours a week you work, say it takes about an hour each night to eat so that's another 7 hours gone. 1:30 hours to get dressed and have breakfast and get to work so that's another 10:30 hours gone, so after all that which covers the majority of people in the guild you still have 46:30 hours of free time each week so you can see out of all the free time you have spending 6-7 hours to contribute to your guild isn't a big ask.
(and in case you were wondering I'm not trolling I'm just giving you the figures as an answer to lazy people that want the rank to just be handed to them)
On a side note for anyone who's interested in these figures that's 2,232 hours of free time a year, the average life span of a human is 70-90 years so that's 116,064 to 160,704 hours of free time you'll have in your life not including childhood and if you started work with the above figures at the age of 18.

hey Dave! great post man! i hope the other guildies are thinking the same about it!
this will def.pimp up our premade rate
even now just before the rated BG's (and cataclysm ofc) its important to keep those prenades up even now when its more rewarding to just join a random for the lose/win bonus
but soon it will be more rewarding to do alot of premades because then every victory counts for your own Rating then...soo better to practise now and master then practise later and lose valuable rating points!
but cheers to you dave for this marvelous post and rank system..its wonderfull and you have invested alot of free time in it,soo in the name of SWC : thanks mate!
p.s. cya guys monday! and me took a day off at tueseday..soo cya guys soon!
